Living Room Remodel

One of my goals for 2011 is to finish remodeling the front of the house--the living room and two bedrooms. I made curtains and a window seat for the living room more than a year ago (projects that took me nearly a year to get done already). Don pulled up the carpet in the living room months ago, but then we go distracted. The idea is to refinish the hardwood underneath. But to do that, we first have to replace the door to the bedroom. The door that's there now is an extra wide door like for a wheelchair. So we're taking it out and replacing it with french doors.
Before:  You can see the weird little ceiling between the door and the opposite wall.

 Day 1: The odd above door shelf and some of the wall is gone. Day 2: All of the wall is gone.
