Another Exciting Day in Camas

What happens when a mylar balloon comes back to earth and gets caught in a power transformer? Giant flames, big boom, and dark. Just another moment of neighborhood excitement here in Camas. We woke at 7am on Friday morning, not because the alarm started making noise, but because it stopped, right after a big boom and a flash of light. I looked out the window to see a fire burning near the power pole across the street from our window. It only blew our block, the rest of Camas was oblivious. Happily, Clark PUD came soon after we called and had the power back on by noon. And it probably only cost the county $15,000.
