Procrastination: Font Game

We just watched the documentary "Helvetica," a fascinating history of the typeface that modernized international advertising post World War II. Now, suddenly consciousness about typefaces is everywhere. Don and I even debated the origin of the typeface on the highway signs while driving north this morning. [geek alert, geek alert.] It brings back memories of when we first started the law firm. We spent countless hours debating fonts. Truly more hours than I care to admit. Fonts in the logo [Papyrus and Garamond won out]. Fonts for general documents [Joe wanted Bookman Old Style, I thought that looked to much like it was drawn with a crayon. I wanted Garamond, Joe thought that looked to prissy. Times New Roman was definitely out of the question so we settled on Book Antiqua, which is what we use still today]. Fonts for draft legislation [the legislature uses Courier, we went with Joe's Bookman Old Style just to make him happy.] Same with pleadings. I think the final straw before the implosion of the old firm was when they wanted to change the logo to something that looked a lot like Aerial Bold. So when this "the rather difficult Font Game" started circulating, I thought I might have a chance. Good luck! My first round, I scored 15 out of 34.

You might have seen the Rather Difficult Font Game floating around the internet lately... have a go at it! But don't feel bad if you wouldn't know a Frutiger if it came up and bit you in the, um, backside.
