Happy Mother's Day!

Here's my mother's day present, a fancy new wagon to take to market. Don bought it and got it put together in time for me to take it to the Camas Plant and Garden Fair on Saturday. Every year, the American Business Women's Association sponsors a plant fair downtown on the Saturday before Mother's Day. The event includes about 100 vendors and takes up all 5 blocks of downtown, included the side streets on each side. Clearly a perfect place to take "the bucket" for a test drive. We filled it up, brought it home, then went back to fill it again! Luckily, the weather held, we even managed to get everything planted. (Quite a change from last year, the rasperries I bought from the Camas Roots garden last year only just made it into the dirt lasw week.) Last year, he bought me six fancy hanging baskets for the porch, where they hung for nearly a year, empty. About the same time, aunt Nancy sent me 3 of the coolest "strawberry" pots, which also sat empty for a year. This year they are almost all filled! They look a little sparse at the moment, but with enough water and some sun, I'm expecting things will look a lot brighter around here this summer! (Plus, we found a lady that makes art from old doors. Remember last summer when I was complaining about all the 5 panel doors that were following Don home and taking up space on my porch? We (he) managed to convince her to take them all!)
