Clam Digging

Cute little critter, isn't it? After the Thanksgiving gala, no one had the energy to go Christmas shopping, so we hit the beach instead to hunt and gather some razor clams. None of us had ever been before, but with our friend Yogi as the ringleader, we braved a 2-1/2 hour car ride (the girls rode with Yogi, that'll teach him) to the coast, to wander the beach looking for some tasty morsels. Mom and Paul, ever game, came along and tried their hand at this catfishing thing (Paul calls all things fishy "catfish") but came up empty. Luckily, Don, Yogi and Booboo pulled in their limit (the girls and I tried hard, but then Hannah and I had to hit the car for snacks and to warm our feet). It was a blast! Tonight, we had Mom, Paul and all the orphan uncles over for a fine clam bake. It was a great way to finish off the Thanksgiving holiday. Tomorrow, it's catch up day for all the things that fell by the wayside!
