Camas. Okay, so the girls technically started school two weeks ago but today was the first day of the school year for us. The morning was a testament to how much the girls have grown and to the value of routine. Although the routine at our house is probably different from the routine at the mama's house, we've really worked to keep the routine consistent over the summer in anticipation of this. A year ago, the morning routine involved a lot of nagging, threats, and rushing. This morning it was the girls nagging and threatening to get going because they were ready to go 20 minutes early! And the best part was they did it ALL by themselves! From cereal to shoes, it was their doing. We had a smidgen of drama between Hannah and Dad over whether Hannah was going to wear socks, solve by a compromise measure of socks in the backpack "just in case Dad could be right." Long shot I'm sure.
Now I'm supposed to be working. No excuses! The house will be quiet for 7 hours, wish me luck.
