Camas. The rains seem to have started already, its a chilly gray day. When you are looking ahead to soccer practices and games in the rain, it starts to make the chill seem a bit colder and the gray a bit grayer. Maybe it will clear? And warm up?
We managed to get through day one--dinner, homework, soccer practice, a surprise visit from the neighbor kids (ugh), and bed. A lot to get through in 4-1/2 hours. Bailey forgot Dad was picking her up so jumped the bus. Dad had to chase it down. Surprisingly, they let her off the bus to go with him. I guess if the kids think its okay, so do the grown ups. Hannah sneaks in TV at any possible moment--before school, before dinner, while dressing for soccer, after soccer, while brushing teeth. I must have turned if off three or four times yesterday. Plus another time this morning when she was supposed to be dressing for school.
Day two was not so smooth as day one, although the bumps were really pretty minor. There was the TV thing--I went to the store this morning (Safeway is a block away) to find bracelets for the girls to wear to remind them to look for Dad after school instead of the bus and came home to find Hannah planted in front of the TV in her pj's. Then the big drama, Bailey's wardrobe included one of Hannah's dresses. This was news to Hannah who came unglued when she saw Bailey wearing it. (If she'd be dressing instead of watching TV, maybe it wouldn't have been such a shock.) They worked it out, but not before some high pitched wailing. After that, things smoothed out with time for spelling homework before it was time to leave.
Now its time to refocus on work. 7 hours. Here we go....
