Weekend Recap: Doing Nothing Really...

I was giving my virtual office mate an update on the weekend.  No, I wasn't talking to myself.  My live officemate is the Mighty Puma, but 178 miles from here in an actual office sits the lovely Ms Jessica.  We share the same birthday, and once or twice a month she graciously shares her work space, the rest of the time we stay in touch by IM, email or phone. She keeps me tethered, or at least in the same universe, as the rest of my office.

This was the first weekend in awhile without a any other obligations.  So I puttered around, doing nothing really.  Nothing really means: I turned some old cabinet doors into chalkboards for my kitchen, weeded the veggie garden and finally finished pruning the rose bushes, read a book, got caught up on my hulu backlog (very important to know what is going on with Bones and Fringe), tourtured Don into finally rewiring the switches and plugs in the living room, ignored all the farmers market and office related administrative stuff I should have been doing, researched carrot recipes for the February CanJam, made a menu plan for next week, did the month's major grocery shopping (Costco, Trader Joe's, Grocery Outlet and Azure), went to a couple of estate sales (found an awesome embroidered sheet that may become a duvet cover in a future craft debacle), made some valentines, cooked some actual food instead of eating out (Lime Mahi Mahi on Saturday, Pot Roast with trimmings and fresh bread on Sunday), did laundry (lots of laundry), updated the blog, did some blogging ....

No wonder I slept in this morning.  Maybe our world isn't as "simple" as I think it is....
