Chickie Chickie Chickie

Only one chickie came home with us from the Pacific Northwest Poultry Show today.  The Buff Orphinton I really wanted were sold out early.  There were tons of little bantam pairs, perfect little picturesque sets of all varieties of old english game hens (my favorites!).  But I've been in need of another production hen.  There were lovely Barred Rocks, but they would remind me too much of Moose and I'd be sad.  Or then wouldn't be at all like Moose, and I'd be sadder.  In the end we settled on a Silver Lace Wyandotte.  She supposed to be a great egger, and docile enough to tolerate the kids.  Right now she's a 12 week old pullet, which means she looks a wreck.  All out of proportion with a missing comb and barely enough feathers.  But one day she's going to look fancy.
