Menu Plan Monday, September 15

THE PLAN ... This was garage sale weekend. Next time I suggest that's a good idea, will someone please stop me? Torture! We didn't get quite through Memaw's garage so this probably isn't the only garage sale we'll be having either. Plus, there's still the house to do. It will give us some more room to move and clean though, if I can convince her that what didn't sell can go to charity. It would have been more fun if I had recovered from the week, but the two day trip to Wenatchee early in the week really wore me out. With the change in school districts, we've lost the flexibility of having the girls stay with Memaw on school nights so I had to drive myself. By Friday, I was so tired, I could hardly function. After getting everything ready for the sale, I came home and did busy work in bed with a movie on. I'm now caught up on the Netflix movies I couldn't stay awake to watch all week.
I did sneak away from the garage sale for awhile yesterday to visit the market. I couldn't pass up on Singing Frog Farm Roma tomatoes, so at some point this week I'll be stuffing those in jars. As soon as I decide if they are going straight in or as sauce first. There were also more green beans from Storytree Farms that will be going into the freezer. Fresh Earth Gardens has some shelling beans that I'm excited about for later this winter--they are drying now in the pantry. I exercised extreme restraint and only bought five pounds of nectarines to eat this week, not the 25 pounds Honey Guy thought I needed. It doesn't look like there will be much time to cook this week anyway. The evening school meeting cycle appears to have begun, with meetings at both the school and the gym this week. Thankfully, only one out of town day--if Portland counts as an out of town day.

Muffins: Apple Strudel

Canning Projects: Roma Tomatoes, Green Beans, maybe freeze nectarines
