Day 5: Glendive

Glendive? Even with all the schedule changes, Glendive was NEVER in the plan. Apparently, the universe has a different plan. The Super 8 was perfectly sufficient as a layover. Luck for us, the folks in Eastern Montana want us on our way as much as we want to be on the way. Mr. Mike Gibbs of Gibbs automotive (the only AAA certified mechanic, tow company and auto parts store in town) was johnny-on-the-spot at 7am to come to the hotel and check out the van. Since then, Mike's arranged to get it towed to the shop, has parts ordered to arrive on Thursday, found us a rental van in Miles City (60 miles away) (at his in law's cousin's outfit), and arranged for his father-in-law to drive Don to pick it up, while I wait in the hotel with the girls. The hope is to get back on the road by noon. At this point, it seems almost possible.
