Broody Banty
Lady banty is a stubborn little bird. Just when I think I've convinced her to stay outside with the other chickens, I find her in the nesting in the laundry basket. Or the girls' bedroom. Or under the couch. She's convinced her nest will be safer in the house. What usually gives her away is Mister's desperate crows when he can't find her. Followed by her proud clucking at finding a soft, warm spot. Her main mode of entry is through the cat window. I try to block it with a towel, but then the cat pushes through leaving a hole for Lady. Or, she waits until someone opens a door, then she rushes through. And as soon as she's pitched back outside, she's looking for another way in. Over and over again. Good thing she's cute.
