Today's Reading Pile: Plenty

Continuing on our summer's "food" theme, I just finished yet another in the recent genre of books I can only classify as "a year in the life of people who eat." Plenty was written by the Alisa Smith and James Mackinnon, considered poster children for the local food movement and the 100 mile diet. Similar to the Barbara Kingsolver book, Animal, Vegetable, Miracle, Alisa and James document their attempts to only eat food grown within 100 miles of their British Columbia home. That aspect of eating in the Pacific Northwest was particularly interesting. I was amazed at how many things they found growing in the great north!
