We have pored over books, driven around neighborhoods, bought magazines, and finally the right coop came to us. Here it is: the Playhouse Chicken Coop. It was featured in the first issue of Backyard Poultry magazine, the first chicken magazine we ever read. It was a hand-me-down from Unkie Charles and Aunt Nancy from their chicken phase. We had put the magazine away for safe keeping and there it kept safely for 6 months or more until we were sorting through some boxes last week. The coop was designed by Dennis Harrison-Noonan of Madison, WI. Thankfully, the magazine published his web address and thankfully, Dennis answers his emails on Sundays, AND lists his plans on Ebay for instant purchase, AND takes payment from Paypal, so that impulsive procrastinators such as ourselves can whip out the credit card and have an instant solution the instant critical mass hits critical meltdown.
Okay, so instant solution is a bit of a stretch. What we now have is a materials list the length of my arm and a 16 page pdf docket of totally unintelligible pen and ink drawing done by Dennis's chickens, but it's a start!
