Catching Up!
Camas. I've been a bad blogger this last few weeks. The gloom of winter really descended this year. But spring appears to be arriving. The trees here are starting to bloom. We're recovering from the change in the clocks (at least I think we are. I went to bed for a "nap" at 1:00 yesterday afternoon and didn't get back out of the bed until 9:00 this morning.) Today I'm supposed to be getting our taxes done. That was my excuse to stay home while Don's out in the desert fulfilling some spring ritual of scouting. Perfect day to procrastinate and catch up on the blog instead!
The update at Marker House is that, with all the apartments seemingly stable and rented, we've started work on making our apartment livable. My second floor office is now operational with a desk, bookshelves and filing cabinet, most of which (all?) came to us through Don's vigilant monitoring of Craigslist and made its way up the stairs (remember this is a Victorian, no elevators and mid-flight landings between all floors) with the help of Don's friend Milton. Moving into my office meant moving out of the bedroom, so now there is room for a proper bed. The porch is still full of the project of the week (first, old doors; now, an organ too--don't ask, I'm not), but Don promises to make the porch passable again soon. I'll post pictures as soon the camera turns up again.
